Wildly flamboyant and proudly eccentric, Keeton Taylor’s colorful personality has driven away more than a few men. Unwilling to change just to keep a boyfriend, he knows the right guy for him is out there somewhere. When he meets Logan, he’s pretty sure he’s found Mr. Right. He’s just not sold on the whole fate thing.
After all, forever is a huge commitment.
Logan Cartwright had almost given up on the idea of ever finding his mate when Keeton blows into his life like a wild storm. Everything about the spitfire, from his painted nails to his scathing wit draws him in, but his immediate attraction is more than just pheromones. It’s love at first sight, and his plan to woo the human is simple—make Keeton his and never let him go.
He should have known it wouldn’t be that easy.
Enter an Arsidian demon in her mating heat who is hell-bent on having Logan as her own and eradicating the competition. With the clock ticking, Logan has until the next full moon to eliminate the threat to his new mate or risk losing his angel forever.

What would it be like to have someone worry about him? Someone to take care of him? Someone who cared if he was safe, comfortable, and happy?
What would it be like to have someone like Logan Cartwright love him?
“I guess I better go find him, huh?”
Braxton smirked. “Too late.”
Before Keeton could ask what that meant, muffled footsteps approached from the hallway, and a moment later, Logan appeared in the doorway of the den. He stopped at the threshold, his hands tucked deep into the pockets of his jeans, and just watched him.
A lump formed in his throat, and his chest tightened at the wariness in the shifter’s eyes. He wanted to do something, say anything, to reassure him, but he was just as nervous. Maybe more so.
His longest relationship had lasted approximately three months. So, really, what the hell did he know about being someone’s partner? He had already been freaking out about the whole Mariah-doesn’t-have-a-soul thing, and then he’d had the big M-bomb dropped in his lap.
He was also aware of the compulsion shifters had to be near their mates. It could be that Logan only desired him because of that supernatural connection. Fine, but Keeton wanted someone to love him, not be stuck with him.
Unlike Braxton, he thought love at first sight was a complete scam. He kind of had his doubts about happily ever afters, too. Nothing in his experience would suggest that either existed, but he wanted to believe. He wanted something or someone to change his mind.
Logan could be that person. He could be that change. Keeton just had to be brave enough to take a chance.
Taking a deep breath to steel his nerves, he crossed the room and stopped right in front of his…mate.
Mate. He might as well get used to saying it.
“I’m sorry. I panicked, and I handled it badly.” He shuffled a little closer until they stood toe to toe. “I don’t know anything about you, but I want to, so can we start over?” With the most natural smile he could muster, he held his hand out between them. “I’m Keeton Taylor. It’s nice to meet you.”
Logan watched him, his gaze searching, but he didn’t speak. In fact, he hadn’t said anything since he had appeared in the doorway. As the seconds ticked by and the shifter didn’t accept his proffered hand, Keeton’s anxiety spiked, and he started to lower his arm.
On the way down, however, Logan caught him by the hand and cradled it gently. “Logan Cartwright,” he said, his lips stretching into a radiant smile. “I am very happy to make your acquaintance.”
The moment their skin made contact, Keeton’s brain went fuzzy. His mouth began to water, his gums ached, and his heart thundered against his sternum. A shiver ripped through him, and his breath caught as his cock swelled behind his zipper.
“I don’t—” He swallowed hard and licked his dry lips. “—know what I’m doing. I admit I feel something.” Christ, he was feeling it hard. “But I’m not ready to give you an all-access pass, you know?”
“Fair,” Logan agreed easily. “We can go as slow as you want, angel. All I’m asking for is a chance.”
Staring into the shifter’s gorgeous blue eyes, he felt a flicker, a spark, as a tiny little flame that felt a lot like hope ignited. “So, what do we do now?”
In answer, Logan pulled him close, his movements gentle and undemanding. Keeton went willingly, sighing happily as he molded himself to Logan’s broad, muscular chest. Soft lips whispered over his forehead, his eyes, his nose, and finally his lips. It was just a sweet, chaste kiss, but it sent tingles racing across his skin.
“I’m going to make you so happy,” Logan promised in a husky whisper.
